We've lived in our home nearly 8 months now and we are still learning so much about it and about being homeowners. I think by the time we finish changing all the things around our home to fit our taste, it will be time to start all over again! Well this leads me to the one place in our home which completely baffles us; the "awkward nook". We have this really strange nook between our living room and our kitchen that serves absolutely no purpose. We've assumed that the previous owners might have used it as a place for their home theater system, but we on the other hand can't figure out what to do with it, except to store junk. It's not actually part of the kitchen so I'm not sure if it could be a small pantry and since it's a bit hidden, picture frames and trinkets seem pointless. We recently painted it to match the living room (I'll post pictures soon), so now I'm looking for ideas! If you have any, I'm totally up for suggestions but please keep in mind we have a crazy 2 year old living with us!

How wide is it? Could it be a little desk area? Otherwise, I vote pantry! :)
WOW.. so many ideas come to mind:
the main one would be as Kristin suggested a small office area.. place to put the bills, mag.. keys.. calendar etc..
or book shelf.. I have a 3 year and we have accumulated ALOT of books..
finally.. how about a pantry - put in a glass door and some shelfs and BOOM .. pantry for the kitchen hardware.. wish I had one.. we stuff EVERYTHING in our cabinets (messy)...
