A few weeks ago I made a no-sew rockets table runner as part of the decor for JD's Robots & Rockets 2nd birthday party and today it's been featured by Christine at Pure Joy Events! This is the 1st time one of my tutorials has been featured and I was not only honored but also super excited to share it with Pure Joy Event's readers and of course all my fabulous readers! JD's 2 Year Check-Up
JD has been an official “terrible two” year old for about a week now and I'm a little surprised at how well behaved he's been (this week)! Last month he was literally driving us crazy, but after taking some time to re-evaluate things and adjust our schedules to meet his needs, things have gotten a lot better. JD had his 2 year check-up last week and except for a mild case of strep throat, he is doing great and according to his doctor he is very bright for his age (he's quite the chatterbox)! Next week he will be visiting the dentist for the very first time, so wish us luck and stay tuned.
2 Year Check-Up
Height: 36 inches (90%)
Weight: 27 lbs (50%)
Head Circumference: 51 (95%)

Pinterest!
As if I didn't already have way too much on my plate; I now have a new addiction, Pinterest! For those of you who have not already been sucked into this very addictive website, here's the scoop.
What is Pinterest?
Think of Pinterest as a virtual pinboard — a place where you can create collections of things you love and "follow" collections created by people with great taste.
People use Pinterest to collect and share all sorts of things -- wedding inspiration, favorite T-shirts, DJ equipment. You name it, people are pinning it.
We know you have great taste in something. Our mission is to make Pinterest the best place for you to share your taste with the world.
So there it is in a nutshell; no more saving pictures to my computer, my favorites, my jump drive or even my iPhone (oh yes there's an app for that), I just save everything to Pinterest!
To join Pinterest you need to submit your information for an invitation or you can be invited by someone already using Pinterest (like me, hint-hint!). I do warn this website is very addicting, personally I spend more time looking at other people's awesome pins than pinning things myself, but here is a sneak peek of two of my pin-boards, you can see the rest of my boards here!

DIY No-Sew Camera Purse
For a few months now I've been searching for a new camera bag, but couldn't find just the right one! Then I came across a couple tutorials, here , here and here on how to turn a purse into a camera bag and I became intrigued, the only problem was I don't know how to sew and I didn't have the perfect purse! Well, hubby must have read my mind (or my hinting payed off) because for Mother's Day he bought me this gorgeous Max and Cleo Satchel.
and a week later I began my "no-sew" camera purse design.
I used 1 inch foam, fabric, sticky back velcro and fusible bonding web, I followed a few of the tutorial mentioned above, substituting actual sewing with fusible bonding!
Now I have a super functional and super cute camera purse!

Galvanized Metal Tier Stand
Have you seen this galvanized metal 3-tier stand from Pottery Barn, isn't it beautiful! But at $69 a pop all I could do was admire it from afar!
Well, that is until about two weeks ago when I came across this beauty at HomeGoods! I bet you will never guess the price; $14.99, so I of course bought it! I've already had a chance to break it in at JD's party (we used it to display sandwiches), but I'm considering turning it into a mini herb garden display!

JD's Robots & Rockets 2nd Birthday Party
JD's Robots & Rockets 2nd birthday party was last Saturday! When JD arrived at his very own party the expression on his face was well worth the months of planning, he was so excited; we all had a blast, especially the kids and a few kids at heart! This was the very first party we've thrown at our new home and I have to admit although I was a little nervous everything turned out perfect! I want to thank everyone who came out to celebrate with us and I also want to thank all the wonderfully amazing vendors who helped us pull this party off!

Robot Invitation
JD's Robots & Rockets birthday party was this past weekend and I thought I'd share his invites and the inspiration behind them! I have to admit although I love making invitation they can be so very time consuming, so I'm glad this party was super small and I only had to make about 20 of them. I had an idea of what I wanted them to look like and I knew I wanted to include some type of tin material (I was going for the whole retro tin toy robot look), but had no clue where to start until I came across LovePaperPaint Blog; it was like Katie knew exactly what I had in mind, the invitations she made for her son's retro robot party were so amazing and I give her all the credit for inspiring the design behind JD's invitation. Thanks Katie!

JD is 2!
JD turned 2 yesterday; we had a small birthday party for him on Saturday (I'll post pictures and details soon) and we had a blast celebrating with all our friends and family! But yesterday on JD's actual birthday hubby and I took the day off and decided to celebrate with a quiet little family outing. JD has been fascinated with cows and horses lately, so hubby drove us out to Chino, California and we paid a little visit to Amy's Farm!
