Mochi Ice Cream
Yesterday I happened to tweet about having strawberry Mochi Ice Cream for dessert and a friend of mine wanted to know what Mochi ice cream was; I realized a lot of people have probably never had the pleasure of trying this delicious ice cream treat, so I just had to blog about it! Mochi ice cream is a Japanese confection made from mochi (decimated sticky rice) with an ice cream filling; flavors include chocolate, strawberry (my favorite), coffee, vanilla, mango, green tea and red bean. You can find Mochi ice cream at your local Japanese market, Trader Joe's, and Whole Foods, but I would suggest purchasing Mochi ice cream from Marukai 98¢ Plus Store (under the brand name Maeda-En Mochi) if you live here in the South Bay, where a box of six is only $2.98. But I must warn in advance, they can be very addicting!
