JD and his godsister Mel...

This Sunday the Lopez family came over to hang out, the boys watched football while Ang and I gossiped and the kids played, baked (Sel makes yummy brownies) and got in trouble for trying to watch Family Guy on Hulu! JD and Mel spent some quality time together (Mel is a great baby entertainer).  We had a nice time and decided we should have more lounging at home with the kids days!

Downtown Disney

On Friday we decided to get out the house, for some fresh air (hot air that is) and headed to Downtown Disney. JD is still a little young for Disneyland so I thought we would introduce him to some Disney characters at the Disney Store to get him ready!

Goofy did not interest him

We have a winner!

and then JD tried on hats, lots of hats...

Blue and Brown Damask Invitations

JD's Baptism is about two weeks away, this is going to be his first big family event. We decided to do something small just our immediate family and his Godparents. I really wanted to make this event special so I've been going crazy the last month planning it. I love the combination of the colors blue and brown so I decided on a blue and brown damask theme for the baptism. I found these gorgeous invitations from you guessed it, Tickled Pink Design and I'm making favor boxes to match.

It's Monday!

This weekend was a little rough, JD was having some tummy issues that had me crying for him, I guess this is all part of being a new mommy. Today was a relaxing at home Monday, so JD and I spent most of the day playing and napping (well he did all the napping, while I worked on party favors). He is starting to play a lot more now and definitely has his favorite toys.

My big boy!

So this is just a quick update on JD. This afternoon I took him to his 4 month check up and he is growing like a weed (a cute weed), he now weighs 14 pounds 13 ounces and he is 26.5 inches long, the doctor referred to him as tall and slender (who did he get that from). Our poor little monkey received two shots and he got a breathing treatment for his congestion, but after his three hour nap he is back to his normal kicking and babbling self.

P.S.
Thanks Abu for holding my hand during my shots and making me laugh.

I love my boys...

This weekend was Evy's (my niece) Baptism and I took some great pics of my boys. They look so handsome in these pictures, I had to show them off.

Pink Baptism Favor Tins

I love making party favors, so whenever I have an opportunity to create a new favor I get really excited. I recently made these baptism favor tins for my best friend's gorgeous little baby girl.

The favors were inspired by her baptism invitations, which were purchased at one of my favorite online stores, Tickled Pink Design.

Labor Day Weekend

This Labor Day weekend we hung out with JD's grandparents, Abu and Aba (my mom and dad). Saturday night the five of us had a parillada (Argentinian BBQ) at La Nueva Portena in North Hills.

On Sunday we headed out to the wineries in Temecula.  Surprisingly JD was not the only baby in wine country, he even made friends with a little girl named Sophia (he's such a flirt). We had a great time and JD was such a good little boy (it's time to plan a trip).

JD's first Dodgers game...

Friday night was a big night for our little family of three. We took JD to his first Dodgers game (against the San Diego Padres). I was nervous the whole way there, I was scared JD would cry through the entire game. Well to our surprise our little man had a blast, he spent half the game starring at the score board (he might of thought Elmo would be on soon) and the other half asleep. Hubby assumed JD would be fussy and we'd have to leave by the 5th inning, but we made it to the end of the game without a hitch, except for the fact the Dodgers lost!

The Nosy Baby!

JD is almost 4 months old and as usual he is full of surprises. Today the three of us headed out to get some fresh air and wound up at one of our favorite hang outs, Lazy Dog. Well JD proved that he can do anything while he is being nosy!

Little hands!

They’re only little once, and while they’re so small, you’ll want to capture each moment, but that is not always easy with a squirmy 15 week old. For weeks I have tried to make a impression in plaster of JD's adorable little hand, but had the worst of luck. The first kit I tried dried too quickly, the second one I tried was a huge mess, just as I was getting ready to give up I found Lil' Hands Keepsake Kit.

This kit is amazing, it has separate clay for the hand impression (you can remold if you make a mistake), and the plaster only took 4 minutes to prepare. I bought this kit at Joann Fabrics and with a coupon I paid around six dollars for it, and 24 hours later...

A package in the mail!

Today we got a package in the mail, unfortunately it was addressed to my hubby so being the polite wife that I am, I didn't open it (although I wanted to), I waited patiently until he got home and starred at him until he opened it. The package turned out to be a book for JD (who is 15 weeks old), Aesop's Fables, just like the one below (you can find this one and many other versions of it on Amazon).

Aesop's Fables are some of the most well known in the world, they are simple in expression but convey a deeper aspect of human life. If you've ever heard the expressions "look before you leap" or "slow and steady wins the race" then you should know that these are sayings drawn directly from Aesop's Fables. I could go on and on about this wonderful book, but I'll let you be the judge of it!  Hubby can't wait to read this book to JD, although it may be a few years before JD will understand moral values, but it's never to early to start.
